Hello Everyone!
The people to thank:
The first person that comes into my head is Becky my best friend. She’s the person who catches my brain when it falls out of my head. She’s the person who I admire the most and without her, I’d be lost.
The second person is Susan my Editor. She’s a magnificent woman who has more talent
than anyone I know. She tore my manuscript apart and ripped out my heart.
I took her out to dinner and didn’t pay her enough.
I truly love them both.
I have to thank Sam for listening to Chapter 1 at least 239 times. He throws plates of food in front of me, brings me Pepsi, coffee, and who knows what else, and he takes care of the kids. If he’s not home, and I’m writing, the kids could be smearing dog poo on the walls and I wouldn’t even know it. He’s supported me through my writing adventure. And for that I thank him tremendously.
Nicki and Matthew, I love you. When Nicki
decided to write about his Mommy, the first line in his paper was, ‘My Mommy
wrote a book and I am proud of her.’ They’re so young and I didn’t think they
understood why Mommy’s on the computer all the time. Apparently, they do.
And, they still love me.
Sharon, for listening to me everyday
. . . blah, blah, blah. Enough said.
I have to thank Chris with my Publisher, for always giving me excellent advice, checking up on me, and making me decide that my passion was waiting for my courage to catch up. And, Lucy my Account Manager. And Jen and Joanna for their assistance, always.
I can't forget to thank Mike (My Media Valet) and Michelle (My Publicist) for spreading the word. We'll just see how many books I actually sell due to all their hard work!!
So . . . In July, 2003, Johnny wanted
me to edit something for him. When the Snoo asks for editing that means re-write
the whole thing, and figure out what he’s trying to spell, because he doesn’t even know himself, and
the spell checker can’t figure it out either. Anyway, he got me thinkin’ about
my book
The War Between the Mob and the Falling Roses. I popped in the disks and
they wouldn’t work in Windows 98. The Snoo got them to work after I begged
him hard to help me. One was even partially
demagnetized.
IT
WAS BAD.
I rewrote it. Then I rewrote it. Then, I rewrote it. Then, I rewrote it. Falling Roses has the same ideas as The War Between . . . had, but now all the scenes are brand new and less than 2 years old.
The title Falling Roses originated with the thought of falling tears.
. . . So, since July, 2003, I spent my weekends and my evenings
on the computer. Gave up TV. I started reading again. Went to Tiffany’s where
I wore an $85,000 ring. Figured out where John and Gabrielle lived and went
to Long Island. Found out that the alleyway I dreamt about many years ago
does exist in a few places. And I did this, did that, and NOW I need to re-write
Book 2.
